Free multimedia bootcamp for young journalists

Poynter Institute, a school and resource for journalism and owner of the St. Petersburg Times, is offering a free, intensive multimedia bootcamp for 40 young journalists.

The "Poynter Fellows" program runs from May 17-29 in St. Petersburg, Florida. (So, you can do a summer internship and also attend this program.) It's open to college juniors, seniors, grad students and recent graduates interested in writing, photojournalism, design, information graphics, broadcast and multimedia.

Tuition is free! Participants are responsible for travel and housing (but affordable accommodations have been arranged at the University of South Florida).

Apply online. The deadline is January 30.
