WHERE CAN I FIND A PR INTERNSHIP?

Major PR firms, such as Fleishmann-Hillard, and large companies, such as Target, often have a formal summer internship process. You'll need to fill out an application and perhaps attend an interview. This information is often listed on the organization's website.
Most PR internships, however, are arranged on a case-by-case basis. Basically, the student finds an organization she's interested in, contacts them and offers to intern.
A good place to start your search is the Internet. Check out the links on the right side of this page. These websites contain several PR internship listings that are frequently updated.
Another way to find internships is through word-of-mouth. Talk to professors, relatives, friends and your university's career cervices office. Ask them if they know anyone who's looking for a summer intern. They may even personally know the employer and be able to put in a good word for you. Remember, PR is all about developing good relationships.
