Paid internship to cover journalism convention

Attention: College journalists. How does a free week-long trip to Chicago to get a bunch of clips covering national and international newsmakers sound?

If you're interested, apply for a chance to help cover the American Society of Newspaper Editors' annual convention, which runs April 24-29 at Chicago's Fairmont Hotel.

Each year, ASNE invites juniors, seniors, and graduate journalism students to produce a daily newspaper for its convention, which it bills as "the largest gathering of U.S. editors." Students write and copy-edit stories, shoot photographs, design web pages, and produce an online edition of The ASNE Reporter. This year, 18 students will be selected to work side-by-side with professional newspaper journalists as reporters, copy editors, photographers, page designers, and online producers.

Transportation and housing will be provided for students from out of the area. A small stipend will also be provided.

Application deadline is March 1. For more information, please contact Bobbi Bowman at (703) 453-1126, or send e-mail to bowmanb@asne.org.
