City hall reporter @ Riverside Press-Enterprise

The Riverside Press-Enterprise, a 150,000-circulation daily newspaper that covers the Inland Empire area of Southern California, seeks a reporter to cover local government.

"The ideal candidate will have extensive reporting, writing and multimedia skills and will have demonstrated them in daily coverage of a government / city hall beat," the ad states. "The position requires a minimum of five years of daily newspaper experience. Experience in daily digital reporting as well as in-depth enterprise reporting for print is required."

Political reporter @ NY publication

City Hall and The Capitol, monthly publications focused on New York politics and policy, seeks a full-time reporter.

The two publications are aimed at political insiders, and "the reporter will be expected to have experience producing and pitching the type of articles which will appeal to our audience," the job post says. "In the year ahead, with a changing state government and elections in New York City, this will be a prime opportunity for analytic and substantive reporting on politics and government."
