D.C. event: Environmental reporting seminar

Winners of the 2008 Grantham Prize, which recognizes excellence in environmental reporting, will give presentations on September 8 in Washington, D.C., in which they describe the work involved in reporting their stories and the impacts of those stories. There will also be a panel discussion about efforts to develop a national strategy to address climate change.

The event will be held at the Newseum and runs from 1 to 9 p.m. It's free and open to the public, but seating is limited and you must R.S.V.P.

Speakers include the prize-winning reporting team from the New York Times: David Barboza, Keith Bradsher, Howard French, Joseph Kahn, Chang W. Lee, Jimmy Wang, and Jim Yardley. Panelists include Bracken Hendricks of the Center for American Progress; James McCarthy of Harvard University; James Rogers of Duke Energy; and Lisa Mullins, host of the Public Radio International program, The World.
