Multimedia reporter @ Minneapolis TV station

KARE-TV 11, the NBC affiliate for St. Paul-Minneapolis, seeks a full-time multimedia reporter for their entertainment website on Metromix.com.

"The successful candidate should be well versed in all aspects of pop culture targeting the 25-34 year old audience, be well-informed and enthusiastic about local restaurants, bars, clubs, music and entertainment events in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis-St. Paul," the ad states. "The successful candidate will be comfortable and engaging on-camera as well as skilled in the technical areas of shooting, editing, and writing with a passion for delivering daily fun, creative reports on online, on TV, and future technologies yet to come. The successful candidate will have the experience to fill-in as a general assignment reporter for the station’s news department as deemed necessary."

Online journalism interns @ Sun-Sentinel

The Sun-Sentinel, a 226,000-circulation daily newspaper in South Florida, seeks summer interns interested in online journalism.

Internships are 15-20 hours per week and based in the downtown Fort Lauderdale offices of the Sun-Sentinel. A stipend will be paid to students who complete the internship, and college credit is also available. Most interns are hired on as freelance contributors upon completion of their internship.

Interns will assist with Metromix South Florida, a website about entertainment, and the Sun-Sentinel's GetLocal webpage, which covers local communities.

Assignments will include: Managing online events calendar; shooting and editing photos; producing daily and weekly stories and articles; and attending story and budget meetings.

"Applicants should have an interest in online journalism, Web design or photography and must possess strong writing skills, an understanding of the Internet as a tool for sharing information, and should have some interest or experience in editorial photography," the ad states. "Interns will also be given the opportunity to develop their own enterprise feature to report and produce during the internship period."

Entertainment journalists @ White Plains Journal News

The Journal News, a 122,00-circulation daily newspaper in White Plains, and Metromix.com seek paid freelance writers and photographers to cover entertainment in the Hudson Valley.

Metromix is a joint venture between Gannett and Tribune newspapers providing an online guide to entertainment scenes in communities around the country.

Freelancers will cover the best restaurants, bars, concerts and more in the Hudson Valley. This means Orange, Westchester, Rockland, Dutchess and Putnam counties -- not New York City.
