Paid internship @ NYC newspaper

The Queens Chronicle, a 160,000-circulation weekly newspaper in New York City, seeks interns.

"Interns will be expected to help with typical office work, write articles for the paper and take photographs, along with various other newsroom duties," the ad states. A $500 stipend will be paid at the end of 12 weeks.

Entry-level reporter @ NYC weekly paper

The Queens Tribune, a 146,000-circulation weekly newspaper in New York City, is seeking an entry-level reporter. The ad specifically mentions that invites applications from "recent graduates."

"The reporter will be required to cover a beat, write news and features, meet tight deadlines, pitch story ideas, copy edit, take photos, proofread and participate in our growing blog," the ad states. "A dedicated and patient editorial staff will train the right person, although experience is a plus."

NYC weekly newspaper seeks reporter

The Queens Chronicle is seeking a full-time general assignment reporter.

"The candidate should be an aggressive news gatherer, organized, enjoy talking to people and able to come up with own story ideas," according to the job posting. "Must be able to write 6 stories a week on tight deadlines. Car necessary. Knowledge of Queens a plus. NYC resident or surrounding area a must!"

The Chronicle is largest community newspaper group in Queens, publishing 8 separate editions every week, covering the entire borough with a total circulation of 160,000 newspapers.
