NYC newspaper seeks freelancers

The Riverdale Press, a Pulitzer Prize-winning weekly newspaper that covers the Northwest Bronx and a corner of New York City, seeks freelance reporters.

"We need reporters for several upcoming special sections on home and gardens as well as weddings and other celebrations," the ad states. "Must be somewhat familiar with the Riverdale section of the Bronx."

The Riverdale Press, a Pulitzer Prize-winning weekly newspaper that covers the Northwest Bronx and a corner of New York City, seeks a general assignment reporter.

"The position offers great training," the ad states. "Reporters who started here now work in the newsrooms of the New York Daily News, the Newark Star-Ledger, the Washington Post and USA Today, among others."

Salary is $450 a week. Benefits include 401(k) and health care. Driver's license a must, Spanish a plus.
