Freelance journalism jobs in Bay Area

Two paid freelance journalism opportunities in Northern California:
  • The Santa Rosa Press Democrat, an 84,000-circulation daily newspaper, seeks paid community bloggers for its website. "Whether you're in Windsor, Healdsburg, Sebastopol or any other Sonoma County community ... if you're in the know about things going on in your town, like to write, and think you're up for being a part-time community correspondent, it could be you." Paid internships @ SF Weekly

SF Weekly, a free alternative 100,000-circulation newspaper in San Francisco, seeks interns for its Night & Day calendar section.

Initial responsibilities include database work, entering arts and culture events for our online listings (with some 250-word bylined pieces), followed by the opportunity to write bylined pieces on arts and culture events that will appear in the paper in the Night & Day section.

Students must be able to receive course credit. Writing assignments that appear in print issues will be paid at the newspaper's freelancer rates.
