Channel 4, a public television station in the United Kingdom, is offering paid 10-week internships and a year-long training program in television production and journalism.
The training program provides 12 months of on-the-job training in TV or new media production and pays £17,000. Deadline to apply is April 30.

Scottish Student Press Awards

Here are the specifics: The Scripps Howard Foundation Semester in Washington internship program brings two international students per year to Washington, D.C., to work at the Scripps Howard News Service for a semester or summer term. Journalists with five years experience can apply for a 10-day all-expenses paid trip to South Korea. The fellowship, sponsored by the Korean Press Foundation and European Journalism Centre, includes lectures, meetings and interviews about politics, economy, society and culture. Fellowships for journalists from developing nations
Until March 22, young journalists from developing nations can apply for the Dag Hammarskjöld Scholarship Fund. Fellows are based in New York for about 10 weeks and report on United Nations’ proceedings for news media in their home countries.
Applicants must be full-time, professional journalists between 25 and 35 years old, be employed by a recognized print, radio, television, or internet media organization, and have a good working knowledge of English. Additionally, applicants must come from a developing nation in Africa, Asia, South America or the Caribbean. The fellowship will provide: round-trip airfare to New York; accommodations; health insurance for the duration of the fellowship, and a daily allowance to cover food and other necessities. Washington Post seeks intern from UK
The Washington Post -- a 700,000-circulation daily newspaper in Washington, D.C., and one of the world's top newspapers -- is offering a paid summer internship to a young British journalist.
The intern will work on the paper’s national desk in Washington for three months this summer. S/he will be paid a salary by the Post. In addition, air fare and a modest sum for travel in the U.S. will also be provided.

Swedish university offers free M.A. in global journalism
Full scholarships are available to pursue a master's degree in global journalism at Orebro University in Sweden. These scholarships also cover travel, accommodation, insurance and other living expenses during the time spent in Sweden. Canadian newspaper offers jobs for foreign journalists
The Hamilton Spectator offers a paid one-year internship program for "journalists from other countries to gain experience in the Canadian media."
Two full-time positions are available annually at the daily newspaper, which is located 40 minutes from Toronto.
The program was created in 2003 by Managing Editor Jim Poling, who can be reached at jpoling[at]thespec.com. He works closely with the writers, acting as a mentor and helping them getting articles published.
