Paid interns @ Haute Living magazine

Haute Living Magazine, a luxury lifestyle magazine, is offering a paid editorial internship in its Miami office.

"Intern will have a variety of duties, including blogging, proofreading, brief writing assignments, etc. ," the ad states. In addition, an intern will be hired for the art department.

Paid internships @ Indiana newspapers

Paid summer internships in reporting, graphic arts and photography are available at newspapers in Indiana for college students.

But there's a catch: Students must have at least one term remaining following completion of the internship and they must be residents of Indiana or attend an Indiana college or university

The "Pulliam Internships" run 10 weeks and pay $330 per week. Although most internships will occur during the summer months, they may be performed any time prior to Dec. 31 of the given year.

By February 27, send a resume, recommendation letter, three work samples and a personal statement of 400 words or less on why you want to do the internship. Paid internships @ large Chicago paper

The Arlington Heights (Ill.) Daily Herald, a 143,000-circulation daily newspaper in the Chicago suburbs, offers paid summer internships in reporting, copy editing, photojournalism and graphic arts.

Hurry, the deadline is this week -- January 15.

Students and recent graduates are eligible. More info and an internship application can be found online.

In addition, the newspaper offers a one-year residency position (a.k.a. an extended paid internship) for recent graduates.

Paid graphic design internship @ Forbes

Forbes, a biweekly business magazine with 5 million readers, is seeking a paid junior graphic design intern.

"The ideal candidate will be a talented graphic design student who is fluent in the following programs: Quark, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat. Web, Flash, and PowerPoint a plus," the posting says.

The internship is in the magazine's New York City office and runs until January 2009. You will work 20 hours per week at a rate of $10 per hour.

6-month paid graphic artist internship

Naples Daily News is looking for a recent grad for a temporary graphic artist position. "Work will include charts and maps (simple and involved) for print and online use, plus other creative presentations that tell stories in non-narrative form," according to the ad.
