Washington Post seeks intern from UK
The Washington Post -- a 700,000-circulation daily newspaper in Washington, D.C., and one of the world's top newspapers -- is offering a paid summer internship to a young British journalist.
The intern will work on the paper’s national desk in Washington for three months this summer. S/he will be paid a salary by the Post. In addition, air fare and a modest sum for travel in the U.S. will also be provided.
"Applications will be considered from any journalists, whether they work in print, radio, television or the web, in London or elsewhere in Britain," the ad states. "Though no one will be barred on grounds of age, the intention is to appoint a young journalist who has experience of important national stories and has substantial cuttings of such stories."
Applications for the "Laurence Stern Fellowship" are due by March 6. Several journalism internship opportunities this fall in Washington, D.C.: - The Washington Post is seeking a college student for an internship in its Arts & Living section.
- The newspaper is also seeking interns for the Sports section and Features section of The Express, its free 190,000-circulation weekday tabloid that's distributed on public transportation.
- CNN en Espanol is also looking for an intern in its D.C. bureau.
- Foreign Policy is also considering editorial interns for its magazine and website.
