AOL Travel, a website about travel that attracts over 5 million unique visitors per month, is offering a paid, full-time, one-year internship in its Washington, D.C. area office.

"Interns will work closely with the senior programming manager to develop and maintain AOL Travel’s editorial presence by assisting with programming, special editorial projects, fact-checking, researching, travel deal scouting, and data entry," the ad states. "For interns that prove to possess strong writing skills, there may also be opportunities to contribute to online articles. This position will give the right candidate a strong introduction to all facets of web publishing and editorial production. "

Travel guide seeks freelancers worldwide

Bakpak Travelers Guide, publisher of travel and hostel guide books, seeks freelancers to contribute articles on backpacking, travel and hostels for its website.

Pay is $25 per article. Articles should be 500 to 600 words, based on your actual travel experience and written in an upbeat and humorous style.

"Our goal is to inform and inspire new and novice travelers about backpacking and hostelling around the world, particularly in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, the USA and Canada," the ad states.
