    EXTENDED INTERNSHIPS AT METROS:
These paid positions last anywhere from 6 months to 3 years and many include benefits. They generally target recent graduates or early career journalists. Any one of the papers listed would probably be a great place to work. You'll get to learn from top-notch editors, write for a prestigious, large circulation paper and receive good career development and direction. You should know, however, that many of the extended internships are very competitive to get. They typically require some solid summer internship or small newspaper experience. But you'll never know, unless you apply!
