Paid internship @ NYC TV station

WPIX, a New York television station and the flagship of the CW Network, is offering a paid internship this summer. The intern will rotate between various departments and even have the opportunity to produce his/her own segments.

"This internship will provide an opportunity to learn the methods and systems of the broadcast news business," the ad states. "The internship will focus on five areas: newsgathering, news production, features production, news library management and Sports – news production. In addition, this internship is designed to marry course of study to hands-on-experience. The intern will have the opportunity to shadow professionals."

Intern's duties include: participating in the production of feature segments, including the entertainment blocks, lifestyles segments, and live feature reporter segments; coordinating live shots, pulling file tape and general duties of the line producer; attending pitch meetings; and, under the supervision of a segment producer, working on their own segments.

Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, undergraduate or graduate program, have completed their sophomore year and in good academic standing. Arrangements may also be made to receive credit for the internship.
