Paid fashion journalism internship @ NY mag

New York, a 400,000-circulation magazine covers the life, culture, politics and style of New York City, is offering a paid internship to assist with fashion coverage for its website.

The internship is based in New York City, two days per week and pays $7.15 per hour.

"Candidates must be model obsessed," the ad states. "Know who the new girls are, the older girls, who is breaking into which campaigns, etc. You must be comfortable researching fashion and model history, making contacts, and digging up any information necessary. A writing ability is a must, as are keen organizational skills. HTML knowledge is a plus. In addition, you will assist the fashion department with whatever they may need. The ideal candidate will have previous fashion and magazine experience (either interning or otherwise), be eager, meticulous, flexible, professional, and be able to work in a fast-paced, extremely deadline-oriented environment."

Summer internship @ Glamour magazine

Glamour, a 2.4 million-circulation women's magazine, is offering summer internships to students in its feature department. Hurry -- Monday, April 13, is the deadline.

The 10-week position provides a $12 stipend per day and is open to college juniors, seniors and graduate students who can receive course credit.

"Duties will include administrative tasks as well as reporting, interviewing, research, idea generation and the possibility of writing for glamour.com," the ad states. "This internship is in features, not beauty or fashion, so applicants should have interests in a wide range of topics such as health, women’s issues, news, politics, sex, relationships and other areas."

GQ, a.k.a. Gentlemen's Quarterly, a monthly 800,000-circulation magazine focusing on fashion, style and culture for men, seeks interns for the Spring semester and summertime.

"Selected interns will have the opportunity to assist editors and writers editorially and administratively," the posting states. "As such, ideal applicants must have excellent research skills, a positive can-do attitude, as well as an affinity for the publication and web site. Interns must be able to intern for credit, though a daily stipend will be provided. "
