KEZI 9 News, ABC's affiliate in Eugene, Ore., has multiple openings:
  • Reporter: This is a full-time position that requires a college degree. At least one-year experience preferred. Duties include: "Enterprising, shooting, writing, editing and presenting news stories for multiple distribution platforms, including kezi.com. Creatively producing stories and effectively using pictures and natural sound to tell a story, with strong audio/video linkage. Perform live shots from the newsroom and in the field."
  • Production assistant: This is a part-time, entry-level position. "The successful candidate will run audio boards, character generators, cameras and teleprompters," the ad states. "College education preferred. Must also be willing to work early morning, late night and weekend hours."

Paid TV production internships in L.A.

The Television Academy Foundation is offering paid internships in television production this summer in Los Angeles.

The full-time internships run 6-to-8 weeks and pay a $4,000 stipend.
Previous placements have included film sets, documentaries, CBS, HBO, Cartoon Network, E! Entertainment, Fox Sports and others.

Internships "are designed to give qualified full-time students (undergraduate and graduate) pursuing degrees at colleges and universities in the United States in-depth exposure to professional television production, techniques and practices.," the ad states. "Students who have completed college or graduate school prior to December 31, 2008 ARE NOT eligible. Seniors who are graduating in 2009 ARE eligible to apply."

Production assistant sough for Arizona TV newscast

A part-time production assistant is sought at KYMA-TV, Channel 11, in Yuma, Arizona.

Duties include: maintaining appearance of studio; operating cameras, teleprompters, audio board, and character generator; keeping microphones in working condition and conducting microphone checks for talent and guests; queuing the anchors and provide them with appropriate times; running the switchboard and constructing graphics for newscasts; assisting with shoots, commercial, and in-studio live cut-ins; and performing other related tasks to the position as assigned.
